Dated on the 2nd of July 1892, she writes there: “Yes, in all seriousness, I am trying to travel around the world, the beautiful wide world! And among the millions of people, I can achieve it much easier than anyone else, because I am alone – needed by no one, I have no family nor loved ones who would care for me if I fell into poverty, no one would suffer because of me if I died, no one would become poorer. Forward then! Courageously! The sooner, the better!”

  • Judith Arlt

Lina Bögli’s biography is full of dramatic events reconstructed by her fellow countrywoman, Jidith Arlt (born in 1957), the author of Zu Fuß auf den Haleakala (“On foot to Haleakalā”). It was she, who told about her heroine to the present owners of the manor, Maria Magdalena Miller (director of library in the nearby town of Gorlice) and Kasper Świerzowski – both books and gardens lovers. This is how fate made Kwiatonowice one of the most unusual places on the literary map of Malopolska. [ezp].
